There is recall on a brand of sweet onions from Publix and some Sam’s Club stores. A Georgia producer of the brand takes full responsibility for the bad batch that my have already been distributed to stores. The contamination is known as listeria and it can cause miscarriages in pregnant women and still birth if consumed. The Little Bear brand Vidalia was packed between June 20th to June 23th. And sold to stores June 22 thru June 24, with the PLU 4159 sticker. So please beware as many of you have already placed onions in your burgers and other Fourth of July delights. These companies have to get better for our safety. Or we may want to start growing our own.
